🐋 About Kyogre

Kyogre is the Legendary Pokémon of the sea, first introduced in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire (2002–2003).

“Kyogre caused huge rains that filled the seas. It is said to have expanded the ocean by causing downpours.” — Pokédex

Overview

According to ancient Hoenn myths, Kyogre has the power to expand the oceans and bring torrential rains. It is part of the legendary Weather Trio, alongside Groudon (land) and Rayquaza (sky).

Lore

In Pokémon Sapphire, Kyogre (#382) is the version mascot and plays a central role in the storyline. According to Hoenn legend, Kyogre created the oceans and expanded them with endless rain. It sleeps in the depths of the ocean at the Seafloor Cavern, and only awakens when the balance of nature is disturbed. When Team Aqua awakens Kyogre, it triggers a massive downpour across Hoenn, threatening to flood the entire region. The player must journey to the Cave of Origin to quell Kyogre's rage and restore balance to the land.

Battle Stats

In battle, Kyogre is a Water-type powerhouse with high Special Attack and its signature move, Water Spout. It later gained a Primal Reversion in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, further cementing its godlike status.

Primal Kyogre

Primal Kyogre When holding the Blue Orb, Kyogre's ancient Primal form is achieved. In this state, it regains its true power and its Ability becomes Primordial Sea, which creates heavy rain that cannot be replaced by other weather conditions. Primal Kyogre's appearance becomes more menacing, with glowing patterns across its body that pulse with the ocean's energy.
